Upon
completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate proficiency in the
following areas: disassembly, reassembly, identification of mechanical
deficiencies and corrective actions with respect to the listed family of
weapons.
2. Attain a score of 70% or better
on the Armorer Written Test.
Course
Description:
·
This
course covers the DS/GS level disassembly and reassembly of the named weapons
and variants. Topics covered during the class include an in depth history of
the systems and developmental phases.
·
Instructors
use “hands on” repetitive training techniques to engage the student in understanding
the technical aspects of the weapon system.
·
Safety
and warning precautions for the weapon system are stressed heavily throughout
the course.
·
The
technical specifications, function checks, and common repair of the weapon will
be covered fully and all students will leave with a thorough knowledge and
understanding of the weapon system. Field disabling will be discussed as well.
Following
successful completion of the course, the student will be awarded an Armorer’s
Completion Certificate rated for two (2) years, along with technical and
general operator manuals and data to ensure continued reference material for
later use.
Course
Goals: to ensure a working knowledge of
the itemized current foreign weapons systems and understand their operational
systems. Learn detailed assembly/disassembly and field maintenance. Learn
function and troubleshooting.
Specific
Objectives:

Assist small
caliber weapons engineers to fully understand the function and design of the
weapons systems that our warfighters are currently facing in theater and allow
us support future foreign military sales.

Have an in depth
understanding of the historical perspective of select foreign weapons
·
Understand the
operational systems of the weapons, including their origin, that Warfighters
currently face in theater
·
Detailed
Assembly/Disassembly of a variety of foreign weapons systems

Field maintenance

Function and
Troubleshooting
·
How to disable a
weapons system for fast abandonment
